So I’ve had this C.S. Lewis book on my bookshelf for over two years now. I was told it was good, but I never found myself “in the mood”. The name of the book is, “The Screwtape Letters”. It is a book about how spiritual warfare works, but it will suprise you on how Lewis depicts it. I picked the book up on Monday night and started reading it. I was awake into the morning hours!! I couldn’t sit the thing down. I got sucked in so bad.

Lewis shows in the book that most spiritual warfare is the art of keeping us (followers and pagan alike) focused on the external things of life and making them the most important. Keeping us focused on ourselves in prayer, instead of the One whose presence could overwhelm us. Lewis turns the readers world upside down when you begin to see how even the smallest things have huge weight on our spiritual lives. This is a must read.

Have any of you read this book? What are your thoughts on Lewis’ depiction of spiritual warfare?
