A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court

Right now I’m reading a book by Mark Twain entitled, “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.” I’m over half way through the book now and I’m really enjoying it.

The book is about a man who lives in the 19th century who awakes one day in 6th century England, in King Arthur’s Court. He starts off in prison, but quickly rises from the ashes to one of the most powerful people in all the land. How? He begins to bring in 19th century technology and wit. Soon after, there are factories, knights have marketing signs on their armor, and all of society is beginning to reflect 19th century America.

The book is hilarious and Twain shows his humor. The book has a theme about the flaws of leadership and traditions. It also has moments when some of Twain’s disdain for the church comes through.

Question: If you could go back in the past and live in another century which would it be and why?

Overall, it’s a great read.
