We’re having a meeting…because we MUST

I’m a little scare, a little excited, and a little unsure of what’s going to take place tonight. The core leadership of our community of faith are gathering tonight for a needed meeting. We’ve been open for nearly five months to the public and are having great success. However, we are wrestling internally with some issues that are starting to become routine.

#1 People are having to ask for permission to do something instead of being unleashed to run with their passions.

#2 We have some flawed infrastructure issues and poor admin people at the top.

#3 Some of our communication at our gatherings haven’t matched the vision and direction we set out to accomplish.

#4 We have some leadership involved in areas other than their level of expertise and gifting.

There are several other items to be discussed, but here is the great thing about it. We’re all walking into it with loving hearts toward each other and everyone is walking into the meeting with the intention of moving to solution, not just pointing out problems.

I wonder, is this normal for most churches to do? If not, why? If so, any suggestions for success?

So, how did this go? Sounds like you’re right on track…best thing is open, honest, loving communication…admit the errors, work on solutions and find passions!

The meeting was a little rocky; however, very good things have come from it.

- We are bringing on two people as paid staff for admin. purposes.
- We are creating a set infrastructure to help us with communication, assimilation, and on on.
- We are more focused now in the direction we need to go instead of getting caught up in Sunday morning church and crowd pleasing.

All in all, we learned that consistent communication, as well as constant communiation is needed to be successful.
